Blogging: Top Ways To Establish Online Credibility
A big dilemma in the internet today is that information becomes obsolete about as fast as it is posted. Search engines seek the most relevant results for any given search. A top rank website as characterized by Google programmers is one which offers fresh, quality, unique content. Search engines give preference to websites which are updated daily. SEO (search engine optimization) is only a temporary solution. If you are going to make money online you must think of your website as a business. How do you set yourself apart from other people?
A good business is one where you have a good sense of who operates it and who stands behind it. The primary goal in internet marketing today is to establish credibility and to create a voice. How many people know who is Bill Gates, Donald Trump or Rupert Murdoch? Large corporations have figured out that they need to have a face associated with the business. By having a face they become companies that you can have a connection with. Blogging can give your online business a face and voice in your market place and that is powerful.
How easily can people find you when they are looking for your product or service? How does anyone even know that you exist? How do you get your message out to the biggest possible audience? People begin their journey of information gathering by going to a search engine. Search engines aren?t looking for cute flashy hyped up websites, they are looking for content. How much new information do you have on your site?
1. Blogging as a tool has really nice characteristics. A blog is cheaper to create than a website which means it is quicker to turn around. To build a website it requires a developer, a webmaster, a programmer and a research team. With so many people involved in building and approving your website, nothing ever happens. Some companies spend years trying to get a website launched. A website has to be perfect before you can launch it because once it’s released you’re stuck with it for a long time.
2. Blogs are extremely search engine friendly as compared to the world of SEO (search engine optimization) which is always one step behind the search engines. Search engines apply hundreds of variables in their algorithms to determine which page is to be number one for a given search. When they tweak their algorithms tiers of pages suddenly drop in rank. With blogging you are always ahead of the curve. You only need to ask yourself, what is the search engine looking for? As opposed to how are they tweaking their algorithm so that I can climb my way to the top again?
3. Once again the focus turns to brand new, quality, exclusive content. With blogging, it takes only a few weeks to gain good visibility. When you provide good quality content, you gradually better your search engine results. You’re no longer paying anything to anyone, and you’re not worried about SEO results because you are inviting the search engines to seek you out.
4. Blogs are easier to manage than a website and they can actually be fun. With blogs many things are done automatically such as cross referencing links and posting updates. User generated content is created when you allow readers to leave comments. This is by definition fresh and unique content which will help your page become more relevant. You can even schedule your updates to published daily and in the future, which means that you continually teach the search engines to visit your site everyday.
5. Blogs allow you to have a time stamp on all your posts which reveal to world how often you do updates. If your updates are not consistent and at regular intervals, it may give the impression that you are not involved and may discourage some readers from coming back. You may choose not to have a time stamp which may give a better over all impression.
Blogging is an instrument you can use to establish yourself as an authority with a face and a voice in your market place. A business blog should consist of business topics, establish credibility, have an authentic face with a voice, and share knowledge.
Your business choices online are vast; just decide what really interests you, and put your full efforts into becoming successful at it.
